Privacy, briefly and completely

Everything you type or paste into CountWordsFree is processed by JavaScript running in your own browser tab. It is never uploaded to a server, never stored by us, and never shared with anyone — because the site has no mechanism to receive it.

What we collect

Your text: nothing. Word counts, character counts, SMS analysis and every other result are computed locally on your device. Closing the tab discards the text entirely.

Server logs: like any website, the hosting platform records standard request logs (page requested, time, browser type) when a page loads. These logs contain the fact that a page was visited, never the text you typed into it — the text never makes a request.

Cookies and accounts: the site sets no tracking cookies and has no accounts, sign-ups or comments. Writing-goal settings are not persisted between visits.

Third parties

The pages load no external fonts, scripts, analytics or advertising from third parties. Everything needed to run the tools is served with the page itself.

Changes

If this ever changes — for example, if a future Pro tier adds saved documents — this page will be updated before the feature launches, and the free tools will keep working exactly as described above.
